Bite Sized Evangelism
Pastor Lisa Fletcher
The thought of evangelism often sends our minds into panic. It seems like a job that is beyond what we are able to do. It is easy to think “Let someone else do it!” However, as followers of Christ, we have been commissioned to carry the Good News to others.
Just as the journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step, we too may take baby steps in evangelism. A good beginning point would be to share with your close friends and get comfortable sharing what Jesus has done in your life and even in your family. From there, you will be more comfortable sharing with others.
An important thing for you to keep in mind is that panicking isn’t necessary! The Holy Spirit will guide you, give you the words that need to be spoken and will handle the rest! Your job is to share; His is to convict and save.
Imagine discovering a new app for your phone; you want to let others know about its value and their need for it. This same enthusiasm can be developed for telling others about Jesus, His forgiveness and willingness to transform lives.
Remember, you can begin with little steps then grow from there. Just take the first step! People are waiting.
